The Arsenal Emirates Stadium, Islington, in it’s real urban setting. Despite the multi-million pricetag and the fact that the football club is very wealthy, the stadium’s effect on its surroundings is not glamorous – many of the buildings purchased compulsorily as part of the development remain abandoned and disused, businesses moved away.
The 60,000 seater stadium is a silent ghostly presence, except from match days, when teeming streets are filled with drunk fans, pissing in local gardens.
