I describe myself as a situationist. I think that is almost entirely down to a postcard which I was once given by the fairly well-known English artist, Graham Gussin, whom I met at art college, and knew well for five years. Graham is definitely not a situationist, having exhibited extensively in art galleries and retained his links to academia. I however have exibited only twice in twenty six years, and whilst continuing to practise, have sold nothing. So it can be said that either I am a complete failure, or that I have remained true to the uncompromising ethos which situationists exemplify.
The quote on the postcard (which I still have, somewhere) says the following:
“The point is not to put poetry at the disposal of the revolution,
but to put the revolution at the disposal of poetry”
So is my portfolio – which explains how I came to employ my talent so spectacularly, and some of what I’ve done – and here is some of my recent performance art. You see, I’m still doing it.
