I get my results today. If I want them.<\/p>\n

I was being nonchalant about it last night. I had convinced myself that since I was anyway going to the surgery tomorrow, I may as well not potentially ruin a perfectly good work session with bad news<\/i>, and I told GGF on the telephone last night. <\/p>\n

“Call them,” she said gently.<\/p>\n

“I might be in the middle of something at 12.30.”<\/p>\n

“Set your alarm.”<\/p>\n

“My mobile will be on silent. Anyway, I haven’t got the number.”<\/p>\n

“Get it from the internet.”<\/p>\n

“Why? I will learn tomorrow anyway.”<\/p>\n

“If it is bad news, I can come with you tomorrow.”<\/p>\n

I realised I was being selfish about my health, as usual, and that she was supporting me. She has hidden her worries but of course she has them. I am not facing this on my own. This is rather humbling, something to which I am not accustomed.<\/p>\n
