Now that I’ve given this post a pseudo-meaningful title, I will probably start to receive dozens of hits per second from people desperate to find out how to become a total success in the glamorous arena of podcasting. Well, here’s the straight dope, as they used to say.
Podcasting is not glamorous, it’s either a job or a hobby. Unless you work for a major media corporation, you have far more chance of becoming established and getting a decent audience if it is a hobby, i.e. something you passionately care about and are prepared to spend your time and money upon. Otherwise, take up model railway building which is likely to be far more entertaining for everyone concerned.
Still – did that priceless knowledge stop me from making a podcasting business, founding a national association, and still running a therapeutic music podcast for my own unabashed pleasure? No. And so here is the latest Pod of Funk for your aural delectation.
