Yeah screw Highbury Fields, Holloway Road rocks.

I and some associates squatted Highbury Fields number 5 or 6 (I don't remember now...) a good - goddamit almost 10 - well, 8 - years ago. It was haunted. A murder/arson had taken place there on the top floor. I think I wrote about it on the blog.

Hi there,
I watched the vid.
I do think highbury fields area is a bit of a bubble. I would say a quiet kind of dull bubble.
Check out Shepherds Bush area on a Friday night. The vibrancy and energy of the people roaming about can stop you in your tracks - it is thick and atmospheric and exciting. I would never want to live there but it is electric and interesting. Look at London Fields in Hackney, this green space has fantastic usage especially throughout the summer. The number of bar-b-qs and gatherings even on a weekday evening make it become a friendly goodnatured place. It is alive in a way that highbury fields isn't yet is also a human-scale getaway from the cars and hassle of the city. When people "get together" on highbury fields it seems quite insular and self concious. It doesn't feel like the warm happy hug that London Fields gives albeit a bit more edgy. But then again London Fields is now becoming de rigeur for arty-media-fashiontwats and their notorious cliqueness and superiority complex which will probably make London Fields a poorer place community-wise in about ten years when they age into stokenewington paranoid hippy pushchairers.

I don't see highbury fields as ever being "trendy" in that way, it just feels like dull unadventurous Arsenal fans to me. Not very colourful. I'm abit jealous of my sis who has just moved to London Fields with its lovely open air swimming pool. I'd love to see a Lido here in Highbury, I think it would bring us together a bit more. :)
